I can proudly call my bathroom a lipstick museum. I have collected quite possibly over 200 lipsticks over the past decade, and most are too old for me to wear, but I keep them neatly placed in a slotted lucite lipstick organizer and gaze over my lipstick family on a daily basis. From Tom Ford to Urban Decay, to a sea of Kylie Cosmetics lip kits, I have my favorites of the bunch. I present my top eight favorite lipsticks in honor of National Lipstick Day, which is July 29th, 2018.

In no particular order, here is my top list for all to enjoy!

Tom Ford Matte Lipstick in Pink Tease

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte ($55)

I’m going to start off with the juicy stuff first. It wouldn’t be National Lipstick Day without Mr. Tom Ford. I have worked at the TF counter many times, and I can attest to the superb quality of this lipstick line. The ingredient list is long, and the ingredients are of extreme quality, and your lips will tell you so. My favorite color from this line is Pink Tease. It looks expensive, darling!

Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick ($34)

If you want the luxury of a Tom Ford lipstick at a lower price point, then Charlotte is your girl. Charlotte Tilbury worked with Tom Ford on his line of lipstick, so you can imagine that her own cosmetics line is going to boast the same quality. The formula doesn’t dry out your lips, even though it is a matte. My favorite shades are Bond Girl (pictured above), Sexy Sienna, and when I’m feeling extra spicy, I will wear Bosworth’s Beauty from the Hot Lips collection. Having worked at the Charlotte Tilbury counter myself, I can tell you that we could never keep Secret Salma in stock!

Anna Sui Matte LipAnna Sui Matte Lip Color ($30)

There are a lot of liquid lipsticks floating around in the world, but the one that caught my eye was the Anna Sui Matte Lip Color–that packaging!! Anna’s makeup line has always been a favorite–for 20 years, in fact! The whole sensory experience will captivate you–from the opening of the box to the application and wear of the product. The color I’m loving right now is #402, which is called Powder Red, and it’s a very vibrant coral pink/red that will definitely turn heads this summer.

Liquid Courage Nude LipstickLiquid Courage Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick ($19.99)

Looking for the perfect nude lipstick can sometimes be a daunting task. Why does it seem that Kim Kardashian West can pull off any nude lipstick? This pinky nude simply called “Nude” from Liquid Courage Cosmetics is staying in my makeup bag until she’s empty. The velvety texture glides on the lips with no added fragrances to the ingredient list. These vibrant shades are long-lasting–yes, it will last through your Sunday brunch and mimosa sipping.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie
NYX Professional Cosmetics Powder Puff Lippie ($8.50)

My drugstore pick (and my ONLY drugstore pick) is from NYX Professional Cosmetics. Powder lipstick is a huge trend for 2018, and I already went through that trend some time back in the 90’s. I didn’t like the dryness of the powder compact lipsticks back then, so I wasn’t sure if I’d like what was coming now. Fortunately, NYX formulated this as a powder cream, and it has Rosa Canina Fruit Oil that feels amazing on the lips. I think my favorite part of the packaging is the cashmere-like applicator tip–it’s almost addicting to press it on your lips. My favorite shade is a rosy nude called Best Buds.

Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance LipstickPat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick ($38)

When you thought nothing could top your best lipstick, then came Pat McGrath armed with the most luxurious lipstick fit for a queen. The packaging itself is an artist’s dream. The formula and wear is a lipstick freak’s paradise. I had the pleasure of trying on the color Soft Core at the Sephora store, and I was instantly whisked away into an imaginary photo shoot where I was a top-paid lip model. Yes, my confidence level had risen. I can’t wait to try more shades and formulas.

Urban Decay Vice LipstickUrban Decay Vice Comfort Matte Lipstick ($18)

When you go into Sephora and you think to yourself, “I won’t buy another lipstick today”, and then you see a giant display of Urban Decay lipstick. Well, it can’t hurt to have just one more tube, right? With nine different textures to try, the Urban Decay Vice lipstick collection had me shook. The matching lip liners for the lipstick shades–what a genius idea! I ended up picking up Unicorn, a comfort matte lipstick in a light peachy shade, and Checkmate, a pinky fuschia color that amps me up on a dull day.

Kylie Cosmetics Apricot Lip Kit

Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits ($29)

Full confession: I have an entire makeup cabinet with just Kylie Cosmetics inside of it. Besides myself, only my dogs have seen it in person. Inside of that lucite cabinet lies many, many lip kits. I’ve expanded to the velvet textured liquid lipsticks as well, and most recently, the Super Glitter Glosses that were just released. The lip liner, as well as the matte liquid lipstick texture, just works well with my chemistry. The butterscotch scent makes my heart flutter. Now I’m wondering if Kylie has a sale for National Lipstick Day this year? I’ll keep my eyes peeled!

I have a video on YouTube that features the Apricot Lip Kit along with the Go Bananas Super Glitter Gloss–go check it out!

Well, that’s it, folks! My list for National Lipstick Day is complete! What are your top favorite lipsticks for 2018? Leave us a message below!
