PUR beauty product review featuring the BOXYCHARM Collab

We’re celebrating eco-friendly and cruelty-free cosmetics brands all April long here at Perfect365! Last week, I played with a few goodies from the PUR beauty brand, and the verdict is in: I’m in luuurve!

I had experience about a decade ago when I discovered PUR at my local hair salon where they had a display in the window. I instantly became obsessed with their 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation, which gave me full coverage without a heavy matte feeling like some of the modern liquid foundations do. Ten years and about fifty foundations later, I lost my way and spiraled into an Instagram-flawless frenzy of drying and mask-like foundations.

The older I get, the worse the heavier full coverage foundations look–am I the only one feeling this? To my delight, a received a box of PUR on my desk, and I couldn’t be happier!

What’s to love about PUR The Complexion Authority?

Right off the bat, I already know that the brand is cruelty-free and eco-friendly with an array of vegan products to choose from. Full of key antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins for your skin, you don’t have to worry too much about toxins or junky ingredients ending up on your face. Boxycharm x PUR 12-piece Eyeshadow Palette

I appreciate the eco-friendly cardboard packaging–easy to travel with and shatterproof. Inside the palette is a nice-sized mirror and 12 eyeshadow pans with a gorgeous array of everyday wearables including an electric blue and shocking pink shade for those days when you want to be extra. For my look, I used Purfect all over the lid, Alliance in the crease, M.I.A. on the lid and under my bottom lash line. All shades blended together beautifully, but there was a bit of fallout with the blue shade, which is expected with mineral powders. To combat the fallout, I used Shadow Shields to protect my face.

PUR Pro Eyelashes in Bombshell

These lashes are extremely impressive, and they were curated by celeb artist Mélanie Viger @MUAVEE. These cruelty-free lashes are softer than a baby rabbit, and they look very high-end. With proper care, you can wear these babies up to 20 times. What I loved about this style is that they don’t look crazy–they look elegant, especially the way they fan out towards the ends. Perfect for those whose jobs require them to wear makeup, it doesn’t get in the way of eye or sunglasses.

PUR 4-in-1 Blush Book

For those who love a great value, this blush book is made for you! This palette is worth $120 and you can get this 4-pan blush palette for $36! For my look, I tried the shimmery peachy gold shade called Determined. It just melts into your skin and looks soft and natural. The texture of the blush is powder, yet very soft, almost like a cream blush. The pans are huge and this palette will last you well into your 80s! (I kid, I kid)

PUR 4-in-1 Lip Duo

I own so many liquid lipsticks that I had to purchase an entire drawer system just to fit them all inside (hello, Kylie Lip Kits!). The first application of the color “Twinzies” I was more than impressed. The product is a very smooth and highly pigmented liquid lipstick with a butterscotch candy scent. The doe foot applicator has a hole in the middle to help with an even application. I loved how the product didn’t dry too matte and the color looked soft around my lip line, not a hard edge, which I really liked. The formula itself is naturally plumping with agave, sunflower, jojoba and cranberry oils. My lips never felt dry and the color did not crack. I especially love the lip oil that is included on the other end of the product. You could wear it alone or over the product for a super glossy finish.

Wow. I loved everything I tried from PUR and the final look was definitely my style–glam! Don’t let the ‘natural’ ingredients fool you into thinking you will get a boring look, this was far from boring! If I were to pick one product from the line, I’d definitely pick the liquid lipstick since it is different from all of the ones that I currently own.
