NYFW kick off week: Our NYC beauty bash and meeting our Explorer artists

Happy New York Fashion Week! We kicked off the busy week with our very own beauty bash at The Sugar Factory in NYC–and it was a major hit! Everyone from Allure magazine to fashion designer Zang Toi was there (looking absolutely adorable), and don’t forget the beauty brands that blessed us with their amazing artists and products. Our lovely Explorer MUAs were also there to help beautify our guests: Carol Lago, Claire Xiong, Janessa Young, and Alexis Blackmon.

The Sugar Factory made sure everyone had a drink in hand, and what a cool drink it was! They’re known for their decadent candy-flavored drinks (there was a gummy kabob in each purple drink) and the finger foods were simply divine! Guests mingled and tasted, and we even had a photo booth set up where our Explorer artists had a sassy photo session.

There were three beauty booths where our guests got prettified–Chella’s brow bar, Anna Sui’s lip bar, and the lash bar at Ardell.

At Chella, we were super-impressed with the innovative Eyebrow Cream product. Waterproof and long-lasting, this features a brush attached to the wand, and at the other end, you conveniently have your cream product on one compact product. Our guests were pleased with the product, and trust us, we all wanted to take these home!

Anna Sui is all about the ornate packaging, so we weren’t surprised that the Lip Rouge Pens had our guests screaming in delight. Richly pigmented with a beautiful color range, these were a huge hit at the event. We were lucky enough to snag some of these for ourselves and have been wearing them ever since!

At our Ardell lash bar, guests were able to choose what type of lash look they desired while MUA Claire Xiong applied the lashes.

Facebook Live Sessions

The following day, we invited our Explorer artists to the coolest hotel in Manhattan at the Arlo Hudson Square. We held two Facebook Live sessions: One in the morning with Claire and Alexis, and during our regular FB Live hour, we were so happy to have Carol Lago on the show demonstrating her halo eye technique.
